Episode 30: Tasting Color

by whitney & christina on February 29, 2012

This week Whitney and Christina celebrate the 30th birthday of The Crush.  And because they are also 30, they figured they’d freestyle this one, in honor of being not quite young, but not quite old.  So the ladies are chatting about Christina’s trip to Lebanon, the atrocious wine people bring to Whitney’s pop up restaurant, and seeing color when tasting wine.  They also turn the quickfire questions onto themselves.  It’s a fun one!

Hi Guys,

I listen every week while i work on the weekends. I liked the “freestyle” show. Was fun. I have been listening to some of your older podcasts to try and catch up too. I am sort of a newbie into the wine world. I also liked wine but never really “got into it” per se. I love a good Pinot Noir. But like you always say a bad pinot is really bad. And i don’t have enough knowledge to know how to pick one that i will really like so i end up wandering around wine sections going..hmm…i wonder if THATS any good..prolly not…what about THIS one..well its 50 bucks should be ok…then i get home and its..meh.. So my question is what are some guidelines i can use for myself in choosing wine so that i can limit my disappointments?

Thanks,

Kim

Hi Kim, great question-and a big one! You’ve given us an idea for a whole segment! We’ll be sure to answer it on air in the near future. Thanks for listening! xW&C
